Make a silver pendant to wear home.
Practice your hammering techniques on base metals before cutting a round disc in silver or shape the square as desired. Explore basic techniques such as hammering, filing, shaping, soldering and polishing. Attach a jump ring and chain to wear home.
Enjoy wearing your creation or will it be a gift?
Suitable for beginners or those with some previous experience.
Tools and materials are provided.

Health and Safety
In order for everyone to have a lovely time on our courses you need to be aware of potential hazards in the workshop. Therefore, please could you ensure that you read the following for your Health, Safety and Happiness.
Please follow these guidelines. Failure to do so is at your own risk.
Appropriate Clothing

There are some heavy and sharp items in the workshop therefore participants must wear shoes which offer some degree of protection. Sandals and open toe shoes may be stylish, however, are a no no! (Shoes made from leather or leather substitute should offer a sensible amount of protection.)

Chemicals such as mild acid and also oil is used which could cause damage to clothing. Whilst aprons are provided it is recommended that students so not wear their Sunday best.

Long loose sleeves are not recommended unless they can be rolled up as this could be a hazard when using a torch.

Long hair must be tied back to avoid being caught in the flame of a torch or other machinery/tools.
Food & Drink

To ensure that chemicals are not accidentally consumed, eating food and drinking is not recommended in the workshop space. However making jewellery can be thirsty work so access to drinking water is possible during workshop time in a separate area. Always wash your hands!

For full day courses please bring your lunch or Tesco, Aldi or Asda are about 2 miles down the road should you need to purchase lunch on the day.

For half day courses and during break time a selection of teas, coffee, biscuits and maybe even yummy cake will be provided.
Age

Jewellery classes are restricted to 16 years and over unless specifically run for children.
